Foundations to a beautiful witness.
Spending time in God’s word, looking for His character, revealed to me just how much of the foundation I had been missing. The God I knew hadn’t stood up to life because I hadn’t actually known Him very well. Like the outline of a good tattoo or watercolor, footnotes help to hold all the colorful stories together. As a Christ follower, you can read the Bible and understand it because you have the Holy Spirit to guide you. Outlines and footnotes may seem trivial taken one by one but together they make the story and colors shine!
Footnotes
Let your heart guide your voice.
The first time I gave my testimony, it felt like free falling with no safety net. I let my heart guide me to tell my story as best as I could at the time and trusted God with the consequences. The next decade would prove difficult, sometimes painful, and ultimately redeemed and full of grace. I rewrite my testimony almost every year now and strive to be a faithful witness to God’s unending grace and mercy I have been blessed to receive.

It gives back in spades when we listen and intently pray. If you pray this without intention or emotion, it has become habit. I invite you to look anew at what Jesus has for us in prayer.
